3D VR Design
Virtual Reality walkthrough of Final Frontier tested by Associate professor, Kevin Moore at Cal Poly Pomona.
At the intersection of art and technology, VR headsets play a significant role in bringing spatial design to the user transcending boundaries between the user and the designer.
The key objective of the Final Frontier project is to create a 3D environment and to use VR technology as a bridge between the user to create a holistic visual, spatial experience. We created a retro-futuristic environment supplemented with artwork from the designers and elements that compliments the interior design of the space.
This project was accomplished in 1 month and utilizes UV mapping, texture baking, 3D modeling, object fabrication, floor plan sketching, and task delegation amongst 6 designers to create an immersive VR experience.
Working with Rhino 3D, and Unreal Engine 5 we were successfully able to create a VR experience that a user would be able to fully engage with.
